How evaporative air conditioners work
Evaporative cooling works with your doors and windows open, so the air is continuously replaced with fresh, cool, filtered air. Any hot air in the house is then forced out through the open doors and windows. This is a different process from refrigerated or reverse cycle air conditioning as it does not recycle the air that is already in your home. It replaces it. This type of cooling is also a fraction of the running cost of a refrigerated or reverse cycle air conditioning system.
An evaporative cooler produces effective cooling by combining water evaporation with a simple and reliable fan to move the air. The outside air is sucked through moist pads where it is cooled by evaporation and circulated through a house via ductwork in the roof space. As this happens, the temperature of the outside air can be lowered by as much as 30 degrees.
At Blue Bay Heating, Cooling and Plumbing Services we provide the best quality evaporative coolers in Mt Martha, Frankston and Mornington Peninsula. These air conditioners are the quietest way to cool your home. They also use less energy and emit a much lower level of carbon dioxide.
